FEEL THE HOSPITALITY WHILE COMMUNICATING WITH LOCALS!
Traveling abroad will give you a
lot of opportunity to learn many things you've never seen before. You’ll learn
new cultures, shocking hospitality like you've never felt before, new language and
even new perspective to see your life. That’s why many travelers become
addicted to the journey that they will do anything to see other part of the
world.
One important thing every
traveler see when they go elsewhere is the language barrier. While traveling,
they will use translators to blend with the local and have small talk with them.
It is good, since it is the opportunity for us the travelers to learn language
during vacation, even only travel related topics and simple phrase.
One day you might hve leisure time to see the paradise of Raja Ampat in papua, or maybe you just go to Bandung or other West java Area to find a fine quality coffee from Indonesia, Java coffee. But even you have the best of all, you'll never find the atmosphere of Indonesia until you blend with the locals. The travel language translators should always be in the pocket in case we need to ask local in some simple phrase. Some people may hire foreign language travel guides from the local travel company to accompany them, but everybody will agree that learning some simple phrase will be very helpful. The travel phrase book will be put in the Smart phone as travel language apps, but many people prefer use pocket language phrase book to make them easily communicate with the locals.
Is it worth it to Learn
Indonesian Bahasa while traveling?
This is the essential part of
traveling to Indonesia! You could not simply travel to Indonesia and visit major
tourists spot simply because you never want to be in contact with locals. You’ll
end up spending a lot of money to the major company which will give you comfort
for profit. Yes, you’ll be one of the travel business targets. The speechless hospitality
in Indonesia comes when you want to socialize with the locals. Indonesian
people loves foreigner who can speak Indonesian language/Bahasa. First, if you
look different (taller/shorter, different accent, different skin color, or
different style), they’ll try to make small talks to you! Simply like “Hello,
mister!” “How are you mister” and “what is your name mister?” is the common
things you’ll hear from the local. Don’t be mad if you are called as mister
even if you are girl, since these phrases are the common one. Most of
Indonesian can’t speak English well, or even when they can, they’ll still use
the phrases, since they sound friendly. Then you may reply “selamat pagi” means
“good morning” and they’ll shock because you know their language, and people
will feel honored to know you may speak Bahasa. Then the next thing you know, you’ll end up
taking pictures with them and acquaint with them. When you go home, from the unforgettable
journey, you’ll become a storyteller!
Did I say about discount? Yes,
this is another advantage for you. Most things you may find in the market, when
unlabeled, can be cheaper when you ask for discount. The major gift center with
labeled price may have reasonable price than in the market, but if you know the price range, you always should ask discount in the market! The
tips is, ask the discount to only 30% of the first price they told you (as
long as it is reasonable e.g. for ornaments, clothes, and antiques. The price
for foods aren’t mark up that much), then after simple act of “I don’t bring a
lot of money”, “please, won’t you help me, I really love that thing”, or “I’m
not as rich as you see” will end you up in about 50% discount, which is cheaper
than the major labeled gifts. The key is stay humble, make them blushing, and
the important thing is, learn Bahasa to make them respect to you.
The world is a book, and those
who do not travel read only one page. That is only one well-known travel quotes, but perhaps you should also read pages
of book about the language to travel too. Here, You can download in this blog a

Japan goes to Bali, as visiting Tokyo and Kyoto has been popular in Indonesian

and Japanese to Bahasa Indonesia. Best of all, IT IS FREE!! you don’t need to hold a big dictionary since this is the
common phrase one and handy, and the advantage is you’ll find hospitality which
